An important scientist and an excellent book writer too! I had read his famous book "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat and other clinical tales" looong time ago, before I knew that he is also the writer for the story of the film "Awakenings" (1990, Robert De Niro, Robin Williams). Having a personal amateurish interest in human neurology I was fascinated by his stories, specially knowing that were all actual real life clinical cases. Due to their great interest many of his stories are reproduced in films by others, for example in "Dr House" TV series (...my favorite one, sorry tongue emoticon )I highly recommend his books to everyone who likes that king of stuff.Sad to hear he is gone at the age of 80. He has left behind all this work to be remembered for ever.
