The WHO multi-country study on women’s health and domestic violence against women, which consists of population-based surveys conducted in various countries using the same methods and definitions, found the prevalence of physical intimate partner violence (IPV) in pregnancy to range between 1% in Japan city to 28% in Peru Province, with the majority of sites ranging between 4% and 12%.
