ΕΞΟΜΟΛΟΓΗΣΕΙΣ

Sorry for writing in English, I do not have a Greek keyboard at the moment and I hate writing in Greeklish!Anyways, I have been reading these confessions on Lifo for a while and it seems that people nowadays are feeling more lonely than ever. I've even felt lonely while being in a relationship with a very nice guy who treats me right and respects me and we usually have a nice time.I think the reason behind this is because today we can understand ourselves better than in any other decade. Our parents, grandparents were mostly simple people, less exposed to media, books, the internet, the culture was different (people were encouraged to marry the first person they got in a relationship in) etc. We know what we want, what kind of person we want to be with, anything less we won't compromise with.The thing is however that we are so unique that it comes to a point where it's as if we are keys to a lock that doesn't even exist. I am not saying we need to lower our standards, but maybe it's time we became more tollerant towards people that are different from us.In the past, I never used to speak with people that had different interests from me, almost in a snobbish way. However, with time I have become more flexible and realised that every person has something marvellous to say and offer.So go out there! Smile! Talk to people for fuck's sake! Appearance is not the most important thing about a person. And even if you don't find your significant other, you might just meet your next best friend ;)
