Οι νικητές στις δύο μεγάλες κατηγορίες των Emmy την Κυριακή το βράδυ ήταν όπως αναμένονταν το "Game of Thrones" και το "Veep" που απέσπασαν τα βραβεία για καλύτερη δραματική σειρά και κωμωδία αντίστοιχα.
Η σειρά του HBO ήταν υποψήφια για 24 βραβεία και τελικά απέσπασε 12 Emmy μεταξύ των οποίων και αυτό για καλύτερη σκηνοθεσία, το βράδυ της Κυριακής στο Λος Άντζελες. Mετά και τη χθεσινή σοδειά βραβείων, η σειρά φαινόμενο έχει συνολικά κατακτήσει 38 βραβεία στην ιστορία του θεσμού σπάζοντας το ρεκόρ του "Frasier" με 37. To "Veep" που έφυγε με το βραβείο καλύτερης κωμικής σειράς έχει στο ιστορικό του 42 υποψηφίότητες για βραβεία.
Χθες, ήταν επίσης μια μεγάλη νύχτα για το "The People v OJ Simpson" καθώς οι ηθοποιοί Sterling Κ Brown, Sarah Paulson και Courtney Β Vance κέρδισαν όλες τις τιμητικές διακρίσεις για τις επιδόσεις τους. Η σειρά έφυγε με πέντε βραβεία συνολικά, έχοντας 22 υποψηφιότητες.
